In yet another example of instant karma, Peruvian bullfighter Andres Roca Rey gets speared by the bull he was supposed to kill.

This was a happy photo taken of a family just after a joyous wedding reception. Unfortunately, groom Martin Colquhoun’s mother was killed in a car accident when driving home from the reception. It’s very sad that his happy wedding anniversary will always be tied to this tragedy.
17-year-old Xenia Ignatyeva just wanted to take an epic selfie, and fortunately for her, she was able to capture it. Sadly though, she wasn’t able to live to share and tell the story herself, as she ended up losing her balance and falling to her death moments later.

On January 28, 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger had a planned mission to deploy a series of satellites in space. The crew was all smiles in this picture just moments before they were about to board the space shuttle. Unfortunately, just 73 seconds after launch, the shuttle exploded killing the entire crew of 7.

Cobras are ones of the most dangerous snakes on earth, and most people shake with fear at the very thought of encountering one throughout their lifetimes. But, there’s us and there’s snake charmers, who fearlessly approach these gruesome snakes, hypnotize them and perform other dangerous acts. The guy pictured above is Ali Khan Samsudin, a famous snake charmer who regularly performed stunts with cobras. He is most known for locking himself in a room with 400 cobras for 40 days – something most people would consider their worst nightmare. Sadly, after years of doing this, one cobra decided it had enough of the “Snake King” and bit him fatally back in 2006.

Whales do not usually attack ships and boats, and only a handful of such incidents have been documented through history. However, these gentle giant sea mammals often breach the water during their swims. Their weight and size can cause a huge amount of damage to a ship, and completely sink a smaller boat like the one in this photo.

Killing animals surely is a bad idea, but posing with them is far worse for obvious reasons. Other predators are always going to be able to smell the blood of the kill and maybe even decide to pay you a visit. In this case, the hunter showing off his kill drew out a dangerous mountain lion, which we’re sure didn’t hesitate to attack to get an easy and filling meal.

Even though this “attack” is more hilarious than tragic, it still deserves a spot on our list. After all, you don’t see a dog urinating on a human every day. We aren’t sure whether it is the red tank top that confused him, or something else, but one thing is for sure – that owner was furious!

Many shark attacks actually happen because sharks like exploring and finding out what the things floating above them are. However, they are nearsighted and will probably not be able to spot you unless they happen to get really close. We know this picture looks disastrous, as the shark appears to be getting ready to swallow the kayak, but the story isn’t so grim. The man on the kayak and the shark have actually been friends ever since he saved the poor animal from a fishing net. It now follows him everywhere as a “thank-you” reminder, and doesn’t have any intentions of biting him, as far as we know.

Giant Burmese pythons don’t casually hang around swimming pools, so it’s safe to say that this photo has been taken as part of a photo shoot and that the model is fine. However, these creatures are extremely dangerous and have been known to swallow whole human beings, apart from numerous cases when they swallowed sheep, cows, goats and even crocodiles!

It all started as a happy, normal day at the beach, but no one expected what was to come next. On December 26, 2004, Southeast Asia was struck with a tsunami which covered many coastlines. This picture was of 31-year-old Deborah Garlick, who was on vacation in Thailand at the time, and was sadly killed along with 230,000 others. This picture was found on her camera after her family came to pick up her belongings.
